Target group:
This workshop is for social housing providers, youth workers, social workers, civil servants at local or national level, and others who want to learn about how Housing First can work to support young people and prevent youth homelessless.

Event description:
The event will be an interactive workshop, led by a panel discussion.  The session will provide ample time for questions and discussion amongst all participants.


1. Kate Polson – Chief Executive – Rock Trust, Scotland – Kate has helped to take the lead in establishing Housing First for Youth in Scotland.  With support from the Housing First Europe Hub she set up the first HF4Y pilot project in partnership with Almond Housing Association.  Rock Trust is currently running a second HF4Y project as part of the Scottish government’s plan to scale up Housing First across the country.

2. Sandy Young – Head of Housing Management, Almond Housing Association – Sandy has been a crucial ally in promoting Housing First for Youth within his organization and in Scotland.

3. Tiina Irjala – NAL – Finland – a Finnish perspective on the role of HF4Y in Youth Housing

4. Lisa O’Brien – Focus Ireland – Housing First for Youth lead in Southeast Ireland, expert trainer on Housing First for Youth

5. Samara Jones – Housing First Europe Hub – Programme Coordinator – bringing a wider European perspective on the development of Housing First for Youth and its potential to address, reduce and prevent youth homelessness.
